Appointments
The online access tool should be used to request help with a non-urgent clinical matter or an admin query such as requesting a sick note.
It may take up to 48 working hours for your request to be reviewed.
Our phone lines can be extremely busy, and we encourage patients that have access to the internet to use our Online Access Tool.
Please note this service should not be used for any urgent or on the day health advice. Nor should it be used to request a home visit.
Please note all calls to the surgery are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.
Urgent Appointment
Each day there is a duty doctor available to deal with any emergencies.
They can be contacted via reception on 01246 819444 from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.
We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.
Minor Illnesses
As qualified healthcare professionals, pharmacists can offer advice on minor illnesses such as:
- coughs
- colds
- sore throats
- tummy trouble
- aches and pains
They can also advise on medicine that you can buy without a prescription.
Many pharmacies are open until late and at weekends. You do not need an appointment.
Most pharmacies have a private consultation room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff without being overheard.

Home visits
If possible please try to telephone reception before 10am if you require a home visit.
A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.
House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.

We offer a late night surgery every Tuesday evening between 6.30pm and 8pm. These clinics are for pre-booked appointments only. Please contact the surgery and speak to receptionist for further information.
We are unable to deal with any queries at reception between 6.30 and 8pm during the late night clinics.
